I’m Lyn Thurman, mumpreneur (or mompreneur if you’re from over the pond), owner and co-founder of Rosmerta Virtual Services.  My background is IT based and design focused.  I’m not ashamed to say I fall on the geeky side.  

Let me tell you a little more about Rosmerta.

The beginning

Rosmerta Virtual Services started life in early 2007 when I left my paid, safe & regular employment to begin my own adventure in self employment as a Virtual Assistant.

Having worked in an office environment for almost 20 years, plus having my own private websites up and running since 2003, it seemed the perfect bridge to go from working for someone else to working for myself.  I had skills I could market and confidence in them.

So armed with nothing more than a PC, printer, mobile phone, no budget and a bucketful of determination I began Rosmerta.

Although I have business qualifications nothing could prepare me for actually going out into the world and starting a business.  I was responsible for every aspect - accounts, marketing, making the tea etc.  Oh, and finding clients.

Through trial and error I’m still here and have a regular client base.

But over time I’ve noticed my business change and I’ve learnt a helluva an awful lot over the last few years.

The evolution

Nothing stands still.  I’m not just a Virtual Assistant anymore.  

I have amassed a lot of knowledge and experience on both starting a business and getting it noticed.  I’ve also found my own areas within the Virtual Assistant range where I excel and enjoy.

So Rosmerta Virtual Services has evolved to bring you my skills and, probably more importantly, my knowledge on how to get your business from an idea to something concrete.  AND as my budget was zilch, I found ways to make business and marketing yourself with little or no money. 

On a personal note

I’m a writer.  An amateur photographer.  A lover of the paranormal.  A qualified alternative therapist.  A reader of just about anything.  A keen cook.

A wife.  A mother of 3.

Always busy.

Why Rosmerta?

Probabaly most people have heard the name Rosmerta from Harry Potter. Madame Rosmerta is the landlady of the Three Broomsticks Pub.

However, Rosmerta is an ancient Celtic goddess whose original name has been lost in the sands of time. Rosmerta is the name given to her by the Romans who saw her as an escort to Mercury. She is the goddess of fire, warmth and abundance.

I want my business to bring in abundance for me which means working with you towards your goal of greater wealth. Abundance all round!
